Its a little random...

During my perusing of the interwebz today through StumbleUpon I came upon this picture:

Feelssketchman.  There is certainly quite a bit of similarity here.  Didn't Disney make a Pocahontas 2?  Yes they did.  It is possible then, based on the similarities in this post, to watch Avatar 2.  Interesting to say the least.

Still don't believe it? Check this out.

I've heard alot of things as I'm sure alot of you have about how James Cameron waited ~20 years for technology to advance far enough along so that he could make Avatar. Honestly though, after all this, he could have rereleased Pocahontas in HD with live actors and done it along time ago. But then again, he needed all that time for people to forget about Pocahontas all together. Something to think about.

On the topic of copyright infringement/pirating, it seems Ubisoft is being scrutinized for selling pirated music in their latest game, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.  Apparently Ubisoft used the popular P2P service, Demonoid, to upload the game's soundtrack almost 4 months ago, and are now selling it in the Limited Edition packages of AC:B.  Sounds a little ironic that the company who is most recently and infamously known for their DRM "Always on" programs require players to be online whenever they are playing one of their games in order to prevent piracy and/or cheating/hacking would be selling pirated material, of its own making, to it's customers.  All sounds a little backwards to me.  Here's a little more, expanded info on the topic.

  1. All movies are basically made around this type of script.

  2. It's even closer to Dances with wolves, due to the adult context.

  3. The plot itself has been done time and time again. Dances with wolves was even a rip off of an older movie which atm the title escapes me. The las samurai is another. Honestly, I think the movie wasn't bad, but it could have been better, shorter, and needed a major character overhaul. Get rid of the cliche stereotypes. followed.

  4. What there's a Pocahontas 2?? And yea, Avatar is a huge rip off Pocahontas & Dances with Wolves, I wonder what Cameron has to say about this pic and video.

  5. I've seen this around. They're most certainly similar, but it's a commonly used plot within many texts.

  6. "The Hero's Journey"

  19. Yeah, I've seen this quite a few times and it still makes me laugh how similar it is. It was pretty obvious the first time I watched Avatar though tbh. It's not exactly a well hidden comparison.

  23. Great comparison and satire. So true. I don't get how Hollywood gets away with cranking the same shit out year after year.

  24. Hollywood stopped telling original stories years ago. I saw Avatar for free in 3D and thought that was the perfect price for it. Had I paid money to see that I would have demanded a refund. Tripe.

    ReplyDelete
  25. But you have to admit the movie is epic.

  34. Regarding DRM, a lot of times it's the publisher that requires DRM. People who make games and music and other forms of art just want to share what they do while making a living.

  35. haha funny, there's a south-park episode handling avatar as well :)

  36. And unobtanium is from the movie 'The Core'!

  42. Just goes to show that we as the general public eat up regurgitated garbage in the form of another mans garbage. Following.

    ReplyDelete
  43. And this is why I hate Avatar and James Cashmeron.

Also the movie costs a kajillion dollars and the guy used the font Papyrus that has been in all versions of Windows since I can remember for the subtitles?! How cheap is that?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hahahah, I wasn't convinced until the video, but the resemblances are uncanny.

    ReplyDelete
  45. So great! That is exactly what he did! Tired of Hollywood making shitty movies! Just stealing ideas these days!

    ReplyDelete
  48. That's what I'm saying. Movies now and days hardly have an original story and makes them lame
