So I've been hearing alot lately about this and I think it may be time for me to jump on the bandwagon. As most of you know I am in college. While going to college I don't work during the school year so that when projects and such come up I have time to do them. So I tend to not spend very much money during the school year (as little as possible. Only gas, food, cigarettes usually) This cuts my gaming budget alot so I only buy games if I really think that me and my friends will play it for a long time or if it will turn out to be a very interesting play through. This being said, Minecraft is super cheap and I think I can get away with it. Hopefully it's as good as everyone says it is.
Do yall play Minecraft? What do you think about it?
In other news. Nvidia has come out with their newest GPU. The GTX 590. This thing is nothing less than a powerhorse completely blowing the current top tier 580 completely out of the water. With dual cores and 3gb, yes 3GIGS of ddr5 ram, it is quite possibly the most powerful, and fastest GPU on the market right now. The only drawback? Asus and EVGA both have this card out now but they are priced at ~$800 or more. Who has that much money to spend on a graphics card. My Radeon HD 5750 will play most games out right now including Crysis 2 and others with no hiccups. I think i'll stick with this card for awhile.
Also, I have a softmodded Xbox (you remember that old Mechassault exploit?) with XBMC on it. The problem? I havent used it or updated it in like 5 or 6 years. I think this weekend i'll be looking into updating it and using it to stream stuff to the T.V. again. What do you use your old Xbox for? Do you have any other modded consoles. I know the Wii can be modded and allow you to play homebrew games. And just this year the PS3 was hacked to allow the same (this really pissed off Sony and i LOL'd). What do you do with your old consoles?
Will be posting to tell you how Minecraft turns out later as well as what I end up doing with the Xbox so check back later this week for this update.
Want some more info on these stories?

PS3 Hacked
Tell me if there's anything else from this post you want to know more about.
It's alot of fun, definitely worth the small price tag.
ReplyDeleteO.o that card! Daamn want it so bad xD
I play it sometimes. But I play it more like serious sam.
ReplyDeleteYou get the bang for you buck. You can have fun and make anything you really want.
ReplyDeleteMinecraft is a game you can waste hours doing absolutely nothing.
ReplyDeleteTotally never figured it out and found it a complete waste of time. But don't listen to me, my favourite game is Ratchet and Clank 3 on the PS2.
ReplyDeleteSweet, better check this game out.
ReplyDeleteI don't play it that much but I do love the game. If that sounds weird, it's just because I watch the let's plays on youtube, they can be more entertaining than the game itself.
ReplyDeleteI play Minecraft and i LOVE it, if you have alot of creativity but no place to put it, this is game is thé place to do that!
ReplyDeletecool stories man, soft modded xbox sounds interesting, would like to hear about it more when you update it
ReplyDeleteNever played it.
ReplyDeleteI love it, only game I play.
ReplyDeleteI'd say get SC2 instead. it is a bit pricey but you can play it forever.
ReplyDeleteI play a lot of MC... It's the best damn game on the planet. Next to Pokemon, of course. The two are equal in finess.
ReplyDeleteMeh. I find minecraft to be alright. It's sort of addicting once you get into it. I've been playing Rift lately, and I've been enjoying the crap out of that.
ReplyDeleteMinecraft was alright for me, but not the digital crack everyone else makes it out to be.
ReplyDeletetried it last night i lagged every 6 steps
ReplyDeleteAnother great post!
ReplyDeleteNever played it. Sounds interesting though...
ReplyDeleteMan...I just want someone to tell me if minecraft is anything OTHER than just building stuff. I mean, that is fun and all, but it got boring pretty quick for me...
ReplyDeleteMinecraft isnt for the petty gamer.. oh the graphics arnt that good.. but its really interesting and quite fun... (sometimes it scares me when creepers blow up when i turn around) - that sometimes makes me scream... am 18.. FML
ReplyDeleteMore sauce on PS3 hacks?
ReplyDeleteThis game is a phenom right now. Not really something I could ever get that into though. Far too creative.
ReplyDeletei NEED the gtx 590
ReplyDeleteI decided to try it after a couple close friends of mine downloaded it. Honestly I couldn't get into it, and I can't see why some people actually pay for it (lolpirated it).
ReplyDeleteIts weird how memory intensive minecraft can be- but still a fun time building castles and dungeons.
ReplyDeleteMy old consoles occupy the important position of taking up shelf space.
ReplyDeleteI fucking love Minecraft. I play it every chance I get.
ReplyDeleteShould I start playing minecraft?
ReplyDeletefoolowin for answer
Minecraft is a nice game
ReplyDeleteI tried it, didn't enjoy it. I actually really hate it.
ReplyDeleteSome times i like minecraft, some times i hate it, depends on my mood i guess
ReplyDeleteCan't help thinking that it would end up being another WoW and my friends would have to stage an intervention (AGAIN!).
ReplyDeleteI like minecraft, it stimulates your creativity. If I had kids, it's the sort of game I'd give them
ReplyDeleteDid you ever play with Legos as a kid? Did you have a younger sibling that came out and stomped on something you spent a lot of time on?
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's kind of like that, though it's amazingly fun. I recommend you buy it, find a good server, and build something awesome. There are a lot of videos online of people building epic stuff.
It's a high playtime/enjoyment per dollar purchase. It lives up to the hype.
